Artist Profile: Carol Morrison
Carol Morrison has drawn and painted as long as she can remember, and after a fulfilling career as a research scientist completed her BFA degree at NSCAD in 2005. Her interest in the world around her, which led to her interest in science, also led to paintings of landscape, still life and portraits. Her work has been shown in numerous exhibitions in Nova Scotia, and in juried shows of the SCA and CIPA across Canada. Several of her paintings were bought by the Nova Scotia Art Bank, and are in private collections in Canada and abroad. Her paintings can be seen at the Swoon, Art Sales and Rental and ADJA galleries in Nova Scotia. She received the Elizabeth Greenshields award in 2005 and a Nova Scotia Creation Grant in 2008 for a project painting victims of injustice using information provided by Amnesty International. "Portraits of Injustice" was shown at the Pier 21 Immigration Museum in 2010.
