Artist Profile: Judith Leidl
Judith Leidl's art work has been featured in over seventy prestigious group and solo exhibitions both nationally and internationally. She holds both her BFA and MFA from NSCAD University in Halifax, where she received scholarships for both academic and artistic excellence. Since that time, Judith has also received many awards for her art work.
Judith has also taught printmaking at NSCAD and Nunavut Arctic College, Baffin Island. As well, since 2001, she has been the Artistic Advisor to the renowned Pangnirtung Community Print Collection, via the internationally acclaimed Uqqurmiut Centre for Arts and Crafts. She has taught both drawing and painting at Acadia University since 1998. Her work can be found in many private and public collections both nationally and internationally.
Judith's work is colourful, vibrant, sensual and exotic. Imagery includes still life, tropical seascapes, animal motifs as well as arctic and Canadian landscapes. She creates acrylic paintings, etchings, relief prints and collaged works on paper.
