Description: This is a hand felted piece using merino and polwarth hand dyed wool, and also silk fibres and lambs curls. The process used to create the felt is done using wet felting and needle felting. It is a very labour intensive process for the artist.
The work is unframed and can be easily attached to a wall with small pins the same color as the background. The buyer also has the option to have the work stretched and framed if they wish, however I prefer the organic look in its original form.
This work has been inspired by a current study of single celled organisms and how they support and maintain life on their own. There is a certain beauty in life in its smallest and simplest form. |
